Handover of Cycling Equipment under the ’Sport for Tomorrow’ Initiative

The Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Zambia handed over the donation of a racing bicycle and a set of other racing equipment to Mr. Kaumba Kakoma, an athlete who will use the equipment, on behalf of the Japan Deaf Cycling Association.
This project was implemented as part of the Japanese government's ‘Sport for Tomorrow’ initiative, which promotes international exchange and cooperation through sport, with the aim of promoting international cooperation and exchange in the field of sport.
The handover ceremony was attended by Ambassador Takeuchi, representatives of the Zambia Deaf Sports Federation and Mr. Kakoma. In his remarks, Ambassador Takeuchi expressed his hope that the equipment would help the athlete to develop further capacity and his performance at the Tokyo 2025 Deaflympics, which are scheduled to be held in Tokyo in November 2025.
