Participation of Zambia in the “Ship for World Youth” Programme

On 16th January 2024, Ambassador Takeuchi met with the National Leader and Participating Youths of Team Zambia to the “Ship for World Youth” Programme 2023-2024, organized by the Cabinet Office of Japan.
 
Around 230 youths from Japan and 13 other countries all over the world will participate in this “Ship for World Youth” programme. They will cultivate international awareness and leadership through group discussions and cultural exchange activities. In this year marking the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Zambia, Zambia is participating in this programme for the first time ever. Having completed the online sessions, Team Zambia will leave for Japan next week to take part in the 4-week onboard sessions in a ship cruising around Japan.
 
Ms. Mable Beene Nedziwe, Acting Director for Youth of the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Arts and Dr. Abigail Malukutila, Director of Human Resources and Administration of the National Youth Development Council (NYDC) attended the event today. Referring to the increasing importance of the presence of Zambia in the international community, Ambassador and Ms. Nedziwe wished Team Zambia a wonderful trip, absorbing all they could including the international viewpoint and how to deal with challenges, and a safe return to make use of their experience for the future of Zambia and the international community. Ms. Mulako Mwanamwalye of the NYDC, the National Leader, expressed their deep appreciation for the invaluable opportunity to visit Japan with fellow youths from all over the world, and promised that they would report the accomplishment after the programme.
