Study in Japan Fair at UNZA

On 12 May 2023, the Embassy of Japan in Zambia, in collaboration with the Hokkaido University Africa Office, organised a Study in Japan Fair at the University of Zambia.
Around 300 students interested in studying in Japan attended the event, where they listened attentively to explanations of various study-in-Japan programmes, including the MEXT Scholarship Programme. Ex-MEXT scholars were also invited to share their experiences in Japan with the attendees. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Takeuchi introduced the Japanese Government's efforts to develop human resources in Africa, including the acceptance of foreign students. Professor Boniface NAMANGALA, Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor of UNZA, Dr. Yumi YAMANE, Director of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Nairobi Research Station, and representatives of Hokkaido University and Nagasaki University were also present at the event.
The Embassy of Japan hopes that many students will apply for the MEXT Scholarship Programme, which is currently open for applications.
