On 20 April 2023, the Embassy of Japan in Zambia, in collaboration with the Hokkaido University Africa Office, organised an information session on studying in Japan at Copperbelt University.

Over 400 students interested in studying in Japan attended the event, where they listened attentively to explanations of various study-in-Japan programmes, including the MEXT Scholarship Programme. An ex-MEXT scholar was also invited to share his experiences in Japan with the attendees. Professor John Bwalya, Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the Copperbelt University, was also present at the event.

The Embassy of Japan hopes that many students will apply for the MEXT Scholarship Programme, which is currently open for applications.
