Handover Ceremony of Japanese TV Programmes

H.E. Mr. MIZUUCHI Ryuta, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, handed over Japanese TV Programmes to Mr. Ronald Kombe, Chief Executive Officer of MUVI TV, and Mr. Mr. Nelson Zulu, Station Manager of Q TV, on behalf of Mr. Moses Nyama, Director of QTV, respectively in the presence of Mr. Amos Malupenga, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services, as the Guest of Honour.
Since 2008 until last year, Japan has continuously provided a total of 27 Japanese TV programmes including dramas and educational programmes to Zambia’s leading TV stations, utilising the Japan Foundation’s cooperation scheme. Eight programmes to MUVI TV and two programmes to QTV were newly added to the cooperation as follows:

・JIN: Drama about a brain surgeon hurtled back in time of mid-1800’s
・JIN (Final) : A sequel of the drama above
・Princess Jellyfish: Drama of 18-years-old girl obsessed with jellyfish
・World Pro Wrestling: Programme of exciting fights
・Wonderful Science Part 1 – 4: Science educational series for young students
<The Programmes to Q TV>
・Tico and Friends: A touching drama about a young girl whose mother dies
・Doctors: Drama about a surgeon who works at a university hospital
Mr. MIZUUCHI expressed his hope, particularly in the time of COVID-19, that these programmes will support not only TV industry by enabling it to broadcast new programmes but also the Government’s efforts in fighting against COVID-19 by making “stay-home” more attractive through our interesting and exciting programmes.
