Presentation of Credentials to COMESA

          On 29^th January 2020, H.E. Mr. MIZUUCHI Ryuta, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, presented his Credentials as Special Representative to COMESA to H.E. Ms. Chileshe Kapwepwe, Secretary General of COMESA at the COMESA Secretariat.
 
          Ambassador MIZUUCHI was joined by H.E. Ms. Flora Karugu, Kenyan High Commissioner who presented her credentials as Permanent Representative and H.E. Ms. Anna Maj Hultgard, Swedish Ambassador who also presented her credentials as Special Representative.

           In his speech, Ambassador MIZUUCHI mentioned that the key message of the last year’s TICAD7 meeting was that the business will be at the core of Japan’s future foreign policy towards Africa, and it presents both opportunity and challenge to Japan and African nations, and in this regard, COMESA has an important role to play. He also expressed his wish as Special Representative to COMESA to contribute to further deepening the cooperation between Japan and COMESA through more intensive exchanges with Secretary General Kapwepwe and the Secretariat.
