The Embassy of Japan in Zambia hosted Japan Film Festival 2018 from 20th to 22nd November 2018 at SterKinekor Manda Hill Mall Cinema in Lusaka City. A total of about 400 Zambians and Japanese and other foreign residents watched 3 Japanese films in 3 days.
Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia welcomed the spectators at the Premiere Evening and hoped for their deeper understanding of Japan through viewing Japanese films. Mr. Tobias Chomba, Director, Human Resources, Ministry of Tourism and Arts, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy for continuously hosting Japan Film Festivals.
While the occasions for experiencing Japanese culture are limited in Zambia, such an annual event as Japan Film Festival is expected to deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Zambia, leading to strengthening their friendship.
