Launching ceremony of Plascon Anti-Mosquito Paint

     On Monday, 1st October 2018, a launching ceremony of Plascon Anti-Mosquito Paint was hosted by Kansai Plascon and Kansai Paint in a hotel in Lusaka. Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan attended the ceremony, together with the Honorable Vincent Mwale, Minister of Local Government who was the guest of honor, Mr. Hiroshi Ishino, President of Kansai Paint Japan, Mr. Junichi Hanai, Chief Representative of JICA Zambia, among other invitees.
 
     Kansai Paint has implemented experiment of the Anti-Mosquito Paint in Zambia within the framework of the Public-Private Partnership Project of JICA. Kansai Anti-Mosquito Paint was officially licensed for sale on 2nd October 2018 in Zambia.
 
     Ambassador Sobashima explained that TICAD VI had attached importance to promoting resilient health systems for quality of life in Africa, and introduced various health cooperation by Japan in Zambia. He stated that despite the efforts made in Zambia, malaria remained one of the largest causes of the mortality and one of the most serious health challenges in Zambia. Ambassador Sobashima concluded that he hoped that the Anti-Mosquito paint would help Zambia fight and conquer malaria, and to contribute to creating “Resilient Zambia”.
 
     After a ribbon cutting ceremony, the launch of the Paint was declared, and guest speakers demonstrated the painting.
