2018/2/8

On 2nd February 2018, Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, and Sr. Vielar Hamatu, Head Teacher of Mpunde Primary School, signed a grant contract amounting to up to 68,575 US Dollars, or 655,229 Zambian Kwacha, for the implementation of a project of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, “the Construction of Mpunde Secondary School in Kabwe District, Central Province”.
Mpunde Primary School established in 2000, currently accepts more than 1000 pupils from pre-school to grade 9. However, as the area has a large population, the school needs more classrooms and the area needs the study environment not only for primary education but also for secondary education.

When completed, the school will be able to accept about 150 additional pupils, including of those for grades 10 to 12, in addition to the current coverage of up to grade 9.
