The Embassy of Japan in Zambia hosted Japan Film Festival 2017 in Lusaka from 3rd to 5th October 2017 at SterKinekor Manda Hill Mall Cinema. More than 400 people including Zambians and Japanese residents watched Japanese films in 3 days.
Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan to Zambia addressed the spectators at the Premiere Evening, to welcome them, and hoped for deeper understanding of Japan through viewing Japanese films. Mr. Adrian Chipindi, Director, National Arts Council, Ministry of Tourism and Arts, expressed his gratitude to the Embassy for continuously hosting Japan Film Festivals.
As there are only limited occasions available for experiencing Japanese culture in Zambia, such an annual event as Japan Film Festival is expected to deepen mutual understanding between Japan and Zambia, leading to further development of their friendship.
