The Launch Ceremony of SHOFU INC. and KANO Healthcare Solutions

On September 5, 2026, Ambassador Mikami attended the launch ceremony for Japanese-made dental materials and equipment by SHOFU INC. and KANO Healthcare Solutions in Lusaka.
SHOFU INC., a dental materials and equipment manufacturer headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, partnered with KANO Healthcare Solutions, a local distributor in Zambia, in 2024 and is commencing full-scale sales this year.
In recent years, increasing personal incomes alongside Zambia’s economic growth have led to changes in the dietary habits of Zambians, while demand for advanced dental care has also been growing. The Ambassador expressed his strong hope that high-quality Japanese dental materials would contribute to improving the quality of dental services in Zambia and further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Japan and Zambia.
The ceremony featured speeches by Dr. Joseph, Secretary General of the Zambia Dental Association, Dr. Sekelani, Vice-Chancellor of Levi Mwanawasa Medical University, Mr. Norias, Managing Director of KANO Healthcare Solutions and Dr. Christopher, National Oral Health Coordinator. It also included a lecture and demonstration by Dr. Sherif, Director, RESTORA Dental Clinic in Cairo, Egypt, which attracted considerable interest from participating government officials and dental professionals.
