Annual Gathering of Japan Scholars 2026

On 19 March 2026, the Embassy of Japan hosted the Annual Gathering of Japan Scholars, which brought together former students who had studied in Japan on a scholarship from the Japanese government (MEXT Scholarship).
In his opening remarks, Ambassador MIKAMI Akiteru emphasised the importance of the role played by Japan scholars in the bilateral relations between Japan and Zambia. Furthermore, Prof. Michelo Syakalima, President of the Japan Scholars Association, expressed his determination to strengthen relations between the two countries and offered warm words of encouragement to the new Scholars.
