Ambassador Mikami's Courtesy Call on Her Honour Mrs. W.K. Mutale Nalumango, the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia

On 17th February 2026, H.E. Mr. Akiteru MIKAMI, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, paid a courtesy call on Her Honour the Vice President of the Republic of Zambia, Mrs. W.K. Mutale Nalumango. During the meeting, they exchanged views on current state and future prospects of Japan-Zambia relations.
The Vice President expressed her gratitude for Japan’s support in various sectors since Zambia’s independence and also highlighted the nature of Japanese assistance. She particularly conveyed her deep appreciation for Japan’s continuous support for refugees in Zambia, despite the recent global increase in refugee numbers.
The Vice President expressed her hope that the bonds and friendship between the two nations would grow even stronger under Ambassador Mikami’s leadership. In response, Ambassador Mikami affirmed his commitment to strive for the further deepening the friendly relations between Japan and Zambia.
