Japan Film Festival 2025

The Japan Film Festival 2025 was held at Ster-Kinekor, Manda Hill Mall, in Lusaka from 5th to 13th September 2025. This marked the 15th edition of the festival since its inception in 2005, featuring a total of four films, including two animations. Additionally, prior to this festival, three animation films were screened at the Kwimbo National Arts Festival from 28th to 30th August. A diverse audience of all ages in Zambia enjoyed the films, providing an opportunity to discover and rediscover Japan through film culture.
At the official opening on 5th September, Ambassador Takeuchi welcomed the audience, stating that we can build cultural bridges and deepen cultural exchange through film. He expressed his hope that this opportunity would further enhance mutual understanding and strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
