2025/9/2
On 2nd September 2025, Ambassador Takeuchi attended a handover ceremony at the Livingstone Museum for “the Project for the Improvement of Equipment for Research, Conservation, Exhibition and Education at the Livingstone Museum” implemented under the Cultural Grant Assistance scheme. The ceremony was attended by Hon. Mr. Rodney Sikumba, Minister of Tourism, H.E. Dr. Tobias Mulimbika, Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Japan, and many other stakeholders.

The total budget for this project is approximately US$660,000. By providing the Livingstone Museum with the necessary equipment to enhance its research activities and improve the storage and preservation of its collections, as well as implementing initiatives such as exhibitions and symposiums to promote an understanding of Zambia’s own culture, it is expected that the museum will contribute to national ethnic harmony and the tourism industry, while also enhancing the value and preservation status of its collections.
