Courtesy Call on Honourable Mulambo Haimbe, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation

On 12th September 2024, Ambassador TAKEUCHI Kazuyuki paid a courtesy call on Honourable Mulambo Haimbe, SC, M.P., Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Zambia.
Both the Ambassador and the Minister emphasized that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. They appreciated the warm friendship and close cooperation that have existed between Japan and Zambia since the day of Zambia's independence, which took place during the closing ceremony of the Tokyo Olympic Games on 24 October 1964.
Ambassador Takeuchi and Minister Haimbe reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the ties between the two countries, building on the momentum of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, for which the Embassy and the MoFAIC have been working together under the Joint Executive Committee. They shared their visions for taking the Japan-Zambia relationship to a more strategic and comprehensive level.
