Ambassador Takeuchi Attended the 33rd Swearing-in and Prize Giving Ceremony of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zambia

On 17th May 2024, Ambassador Takeuchi attended the 33rd Swearing-in and Prize giving Ceremony at the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zambia (UNZA) as the guest of honour.
In his congratulatory remarks, Ambassador Takeuchi noted that this year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Zambia and that it was deeply moving to witness the graduation ceremony of the School of Veterinary Medicine, which symbolises the long-standing friendship between the two countries.He also expressed his wish that the School would become a regional Centre of Excellence that provides training programmes to many generations of veterinarians including international students from neighboring countries as well as trainings for veterinarians and updating of medical equipment with Japanese assistance.
During the ceremony, Dr. Charles Maseka, Director of Veterinary Services from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Prof. Trywell Kalusopa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of UNZA, and Dr. Victor Zulu, Acting Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine of UNZA, expressed their appreciation for the Japanese support to the School and congratulated the graduates on their new beginnings.
At the ceremony, Ambassador handed over certificates of recognition to the select students for their academic excellence.
