JAPAN DAY 2023

On 24 March 2023, the Embassy of Japan in Zambia held “JAPAN DAY” for the first time in three years at Manda Hill Shopping Mall, in collaboration with Nerd Otaku and Hokkaido University Africa Office.
The venue was decorated with exhibits on Japanese culture, and visitors were offered a programme of hands-on activities such as yukata (kimono) dressing, origami and calligraphy, as well as the Japanese finger food takoyaki. There were also an information corner on studying in Japan and pop culture exhibits such as anime and manga.
The Embassy of Japan hopes that the annual event will help promote cultural exchange between Japan and Zambia, enhancing mutual understanding between the two nations in an enjoyable manner.
