Ambassador Takeuchi presented the letter of credentials to COMESA Secretary General

  On 28 February 2023, Mr. TAKEUCHI Kazuyuki, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, handed over the letter of credentials as Special Representative to the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) to H.E. Madam Chileshe Mpundu Kapwepwe, Secretary General of COMESA.
 
  Ambassador Takeuchi said that the COMESA region has made a number of achievements, and among others, has expanded its intra-trade through the establishment of a free trade area, and that the region has plenty of room for growth.  He stated that he would like to deepen the understanding of COMESA's position in the African region through close cooperation with the Secretary General and the Secretariat, and strive to deepen the relationship between Japan and COMESA.
