Diplomatic Fun Fair 2022

On 29th October 2022, the Embassy of Japan and the Ministry of Tourism co-hosted the Diplomatic Fun Fair held at the Lusaka Showgrounds.
The colourful function was characterised by traditional dances, food and cultural displays from various diplomatic missions accredited to Zambia.
Ministry of Tourism Permanent Secretary, Evans Muhanga, graced the event. Touring the Embassy of Japan stand, Mr. Muhanga, wearing Happi dress, took time to appreciate the Katana (Japanese Sword), calligraphy (Japanese writing), manga, and traditional Japanese games and sweets. He also interacted with Japanese Ambassador Mr. MIZUUCHI Ryuta. The stand had overwhelming visits, especially from the younger generation who were interested in Japanese anime and studying in Japan.
The Embassy of Japan hopes that the annual event will help promote cultural exchanges between Japan and Zambia, contributing to mutual understanding between the two nations.
