Awarding Ceremony of the Foreign Minister's Commendations for FY 2021

On 23rd March, H.E. Mr. MIZUUCHI Ryuta, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, hosted an Awarding Ceremony of the Foreign Minister's Commendations for Prof. Michelo Syakalima, President of the MEXT Scholarship Association of Zambia, at his residence.
 
The Awarding Ceremony was attended by Mr. Joel Kamoko, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Prof. King Nalubamba, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine UNZA, longtime friends and members of the Association including Prof. Paul Chisale, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Copperbelt University.
 
Prof. Michelo Syakalima, through establishment of the MEXT Scholarship Association of Zambia in 2005 after studying at Hokkaido University as a MEXT scholar, has contributed to building continuous and robust networks between Japan and former MEXT scholars who play active roles in a variety of fields in Zambia such as politics, economy and culture, and also promoting mutual understanding, cultural exchanges as well as international cooperation between the two nations.
