2021 Autumn Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals

On 3 November, the Government of Japan announced recipients of Decorations for the 2021 Autumn Conferment. From Zambia, H.E. Mrs. Ndiyoi Muliwana Mutiti, Former Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to Japan, received the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, for her contributions towards friendship and goodwill between Japan and Zambia.
As Zambia’s Ambassador to Japan since 2015, H.E. Mrs. Mutiti contributed to strengthening bilateral relations between Japan and Zambia. She not only supported efforts by the Japanese Government on enhancing women’s participation in society and improving their social status, and promoted bilateral trade and exchanges between Japanese and Zambian businesses, but also contributed greatly to enhancing academic and sport exchanges including Marumori-Town of Miyagi Prefecture becoming the host town of Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics.
