Ambassador Sobashima Congratulates the NHK World Launch Ceremony by MUVI TV

On 5 September 2019, the Ceremony to Launch NHK World by MUVI TV took place at its head office in Lusaka, and MUVI TV officially started broadcasting NHK World through their decoder.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Seidlitz Nkhonjera, General Manager, MUVI TV, expressed his gratitude to Japan’s continued provision of TV programs and said he was glad that one of the channels of NHK, Japan’s public broadcasting corporation, could be viewed through MUVI TV decoder now.
Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, expressed his heart-felt congratulations on the official launching of broadcasting NHK World by MUVI TV, introducing also that Japan had continuously provided Japanese TV programs to MUVI TV utilizing the support scheme of the Japan Foundation, and MUVI TV had received a total of 21 programs since 2010.
In his speech as the Guest of Honor, Mr. Chanda Kasolo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Services, celebrated the launching of broadcasting NHK World by MUVI TV, and hoped that Zambians would learn a lot of things from Japan by watching the Japanese channel.
It is hoped that NHK World will deepen understanding of Japan and its culture and arts by Zambians, help broaden the exchanges between Zambia and Japan, and further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
