Ambassador Sobashima Officiates the Swearing-in and Prize Giving Ceremony of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zambia

Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, addressed the School of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Zambia at its Swearing-in and Prize Giving Ceremony held at the University, as the Guest of Honour on Friday 1 March 2019.
Prof. King Nalubamba, Dean of the School of Veterinary Medicine expressed his gratitude for Japan’s continued support to the School in his welcome address.
In his speech as the Guest of Honour, Ambassador Sobashima emphasized the importance of human resources development, pointed out the roles which universities play, and explained that the School of Veterinary Medicine had been established in mid 1980’s by Japan’s contribution and Japan had continuously cooperated to the School by providing equipment and cooperation for human resources development, adding that on the occasion of the visit of the President of Zambia to Japan toward the end of last year, Japan made a new commitment of grant assistance of 500 million Yen (about 50 million Kwacha), for upgrading the equipment at the School.
After the speeches, Ambassador Sobashima, Prof. Enala Mwase, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University, and Prof. Nalubamba, among others, awarded the students for their accomplishments, followed by the Veterinary Oath by the graduands.
