25th Annual General Meeting of the Zambia JICA Fellowship Association (ZAJIFA)

On October 6th, 2018, the 25th Annual General Meeting of the Zambia JICA Fellowship Association (ZAJIFA), which comprises the alumni who completed JICA’s training programmes in Japan, took place in Lusaka.
This year, the event was attended by 79 persons including Mr. Toshio Sugiura, Counsellor of the Embassy of Japan and Mr. Daniel Kalebaila, Assistant Director, Public Service Management Division of Cabinet Office who represented Mr. Bornface Chimbwali, Permanent Secretary, Public Service Management Division of the Cabinet Office. Both guests congratulated the activities of ZAJIFA and encouraged its members’ further development.
During the meeting, 3 ZAJIFA members made presentations on the rehabilitation of a laboratory to improve the quality of the livestock using the mini grant by ZAJIFA, a study of refining iron ore done at Akita University under the ABE Initiative, and the training experienced in Japan on enhancement of vocational training institutions. The attendees asked the presenters a number of questions and they had a vigorous discussion on each presentation.
It is expected that activities of ZAJIFA will continue to support the friendly and cooperative relations between Japan and Zambia.
