On 20th January 2017, Mr. Hidenobu Sobashima, Ambassador of Japan to Zambia signed a grant contract, on behalf of the Government of Japan, with Pastor Reberiah Monde, Executive Director of Community for Human Development. The contract, amounting to 76,956 US Dollars, was signed for a project of “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects”, i.e. the Project for the Construction of a New School Building at Kine Community School in Mumbwa, Central Province.

The recipient organization, Community for Human Development, has been working to expand primary education including the establishment of Kine Community School in Mumbwa, to fight HIV/AIDS, and empower the youth and women, among other activities.

However, Kine Community School now has seen the increase of students there, resulting in the insufficient space for their education and lack of a staff room. Therefore, the Government of Japan considered and decided to extend 76,956 US Dollars for constructing a new building with three classrooms and providing necessary furniture.

Through the implementation of the project, it is expected that the new building will accommodate additional 120 students and provide a room for the teaching staff to prepare for their classes.
