Japanese National Day's Reception Held to Celebrate Birthday of His Majesty the Emperor
On 24th November 2011, Japanese National Day's Reception was held to celebrate the birthday of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan and to strengthen bilateral relationship between Japan and the Republic of Zambia. Japanese Ambassador Akio Egawa made remarks on behalf of Japan. In the remarks he delivered a message of appreciation for the solidarity expressed by Zambia, following the damages caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake on 11th March. He further emphasized that Japan has steadily continued to recover from this disaster. The guest of honour, Deputy Minister for Energy and Water Resources, Honourable Charles Zulu, MP. ,expressed appreciation for Japan's development assistance to Zambia. At the reception, musicians from Western Province performed a Japan relief song which they produced after Japan was hit by the earthquake.
Those in attendance included people from the Government of Zambia, Zambian companies, universities, mass media, sport organizations, Japanese companies, ODA related organizations, and diplomatic and international organizations.
