Kabamba, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Zambia, signed an Exchange of Notes for Grant Aid for Poverty Reduction Strategy for Education Sector Pool Fund in the Ministry.
The Government of Japan contributed to the Education Fund about 4 million US Dollars in 2012 and about 3 million US Dollars in 2013. The purpose of this support is to improve the quality of Science and Mathematics Education in Zambia. This time, yet again, the Government of Japan is providing about 2.5 million US Dollars for Education Fund for the same purpose.
Through the support for Education Fund by the Government of Japan, the first experiments in the science classes were conducted at the schools where mobile science laboratories were introduced. The contribution this time will be allocated to the construction of a training centre at National Science Centre and the creation of text books and instruction books to enhance calculation skills. The training centre at the National Science Centre will be the first-ever training facility of this nature for teachers in Zambia.
