On 4th March 2016, on behalf of the Government of Japan, H.E. Mr. Kiyoshi KOINUMA, the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Zambia, handed over new digital X-Ray equipment to Monze Mission Hospital. This project was funded under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Programme of the Government of Japan, and the grant for this project amounted to 118,661 United States Dollars.
Under this project, new digital X-Ray equipment, the product of Japanese company called FUJI FILM, was installed, and normal examination rooms were altered to a X-Ray room. It is expected that this new digital X-Ray equipment will shorten the waiting time of patients, improve accuracy of diagnosis and treatment, and thus provide opportunity for better medical service for more people in Zambia.

The Government of Japan has a policy to strengthen public-private partnership in support of development in Africa. It is hoped that more of Japanese companies with high technological skills like FUJI FILM will expand their businesses in African countries and improve the welfare of the people by working hand in hand with Japanese Government.
