LUSAKA CITY COUNCIL NAMES THE INNER RING ROAD ‘TOKYO WAY’

The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has named the 15 Km Inner Ring Road connecting the Lusaka Multi Facility Economic Zone to Kafue Road, ‘Tokyo Way’.

This project commenced with the Exchange of Notes in June, 2011, amounting up to 2.7 billion Japanese yen(US$27.6 million) as grant aid cooperation.

The construction of ‘Tokyo Way’ by a Japanese Company Shimizu Corporation enables the easing of road congestion in Lusaka City. The road will also serve as an artery that promotes the economic and industrial development in Zambia. Tokyo is the capital city of Japan.

It is expected that through the Inner Ring Road (Tokyo Way) project the partnership between Japan and Zambia will be further strengthened.
