Hand-over Ceremony of newly constructed community school buildings at Kabanana site in Lusaka city to Chiyanjano Community Orphanage School

On 18th September 2014, the handing over ceremony of the project for construction of new community school buildings was held at Kabanana site in Lusaka city. This project was implemented by Chiyanjano Community Orphanage School with the support of the Government of Japan through Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Aid. Mr.Hideki Yamaji, Chargé d’Affaires Ad Interim of Japan to the Republic of Zambia attended this ceremony to celebrate the completion of the new facilities and the official opening.
Chiyanjano Community Orphanage School has been running a school by dividing a private house into classrooms to provide education to orphans and vulnerable children. The grant, amounting to 134,145 United States dollars, or approximately 805 thousand Zambian Kwacha was used for the construction of a new classroom block and an ablution block.
It is hoped that these newly equipped school buildings will give more children an opportunity for better education under a better learning environment ultimately providing a brighter future.
