Delegation from Hokkaido University Visits Zambia


 

On 8 February 2013 Vice Chancellor of Hokkaido University, Mr. Yamaguchi visited the Embassy of Japan in Zambia and met Ambassador Egawa to exchange views on academic exchanges between Japan and Zambia. During his visit to Zambia, Mr. Yamaguchi was accompanied by 9 professors and staff from the university.


The main objectives of the delegation’s visit to Zambia is to conclude Memorandum Of Understanding on exchanges between Hokkaido University and Copperbelt University and to facilitate research cooperation in various fields including medicine, agriculture, fishery, veterinary medicine, information engineering with Copperbelt University and the University of Zambia.


On the evening of 8th of February, Ambassador Egawa hosted a reception at his residence. He invited the delegation from Hokkaido University and their counterparts at the University of Zambia and the University Teaching Hospital to promote further cooperation between these parties.


It is hoped that through the visit by the delegation, academic exchanges between Japan and Zambia will be accelerated and the range of cooperation between the two countries will be further broadened.
