20th Annual General Meeting of the Zambia JICA Fellowship Association

H.E. Mr. Akio Egawa, Ambassador of Japan to Zambia participated in the 20th Annual General Meeting of.
On March 2, the 20th Annual General Meeting of the Zambia JICA (Japan International Corporation Agency) Fellowship Association (ZAJIFA) was held with approximately 50 members who have been to Japan for JICA training courses. In the meeting, H.E. Mr. Akio Egawa, Ambassador of Japan to Zambia and Hon. Nicholas Banda, MP., Deputy Minister of Local Government and Housing addressed at the gathering.
Hon. Nicholas Banda expressed appreciation for the cooperation extended by Japan for long period. He stated that while he was a student he visited Shikoku (one of Japan’s four main islands) and he would like to make further efforts, working with ZAJIFA members, in strengthening the relationship between Zambia and Japan.
In the speech, H.E. Mr. Akio Egawa said that JICA fellows are the cornerstone of the relationship of Zambia and Japan and that many members of the Association who have visited Japan have been contributing to deepening the trust and friendship between the two countries. He further expressed his wish that members take advantage of the experiences in Japan for their lives and professions in Zambia.
Members of ZAJIFA who have received training in Japan, spoke about life in Japan and shared memories of their time there. This Association is expected to contribute to the further strengthening of relations between Japan and Zambia.
