Hokkaido University Opens Lusaka Office in University of Zambia
On 28 August 2012, Hokkaido University opened its first office in Africa in the campus of the Univeristy of Zambia(UNZA). At the opening ceremony held in UNZA, Mr. Akio Egawa, Ambassador of Japan to Zambia, Mr. Hiroshi Saeki, President, Hokkaido University and Hon. Dr. John Phiri, Minister of Education, Vacational Training and Early Education celebrated the establishment of the new office.
The purpose of Hokkaido University Lusaka Office is to deepen academic exchanges between Hokkaido University and higher educational institutions in Zambia and beyond. It is hoped that this office will bring in vibrant academic interaction which expand the horizons of the two countries’ ties through two-way traffic of knowledge and persons.
