Hitachi Construction Machinery's New Plant

in Lsuaka City Commisioned


On 15th June 2012, a ceremony to mark the official launch of Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia's remanufacturing plant took place. Amomg the participants were Mr. Arima, Vice President of Hitachi Construction Machinery, Hon. Mr. Chikwanda, Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Phiri, Minister of Education, Science, Vocational Training and Early Education and Mr. Kuwabara, Chargé D'affaires ad Intérim of Japan.

This factory is located along the main road that connects the center of Lusaka with Kenneth Kaunda International Airport.

This investment by Hitachi Construction Machinery is the first ever major investment by a Japanese Manufacturing Company. It is expected that this plant will contribute to lifting the standard of Zambia's manufacturing industry by introducing Japan's technology and quality control. Also it is hoped that the investment will add momentum to Japanese investment in Zambia.
