2012 Japan Day Event Held to Commemorate 1 Year Memorial

of the Great East Japan Earthuake

On 30th and 31st March 2012, Embassy of Japan hosted annual Japanese cultural event called "2012 Japan Day" at the campus of the University of Zambia. The main message this year is to show how Japan has recovered from the distress caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake, one of the most powerful earthquake in the recorded history which hit the country on 11th March last year. Also, there was a varietiy of Japanese culture exhibitions.

Throughout the event, more than 700 people visited the venue and deepened understanding about traditional and modern Japan. It is hoped that more and more cultural exchganes like this event will take place to further improve mutual understanding between Japan and Zambia.
