Japan, Germany, Zambia Friendsip Football Tournament Held at Yamato Field


 

 

On 12th August 2011, the Japan, Germany, Zambia Friendship Football Tournament was held at Yamato Field in Lusaka City in the presence of H.E. Mr. Akio Egawa, Ambassador of Japan to Zambia, H.E. Mr. Frank Meyke, Ambassador of Germany to Zambia and Mr. Bon Mwamelo, Vice President, Football Association of Zambia. The aim of this event is to improve knowledge about water and sanitation among youth, and a lot of activities such as march-past, lectures, songs and plays as well as footsul matches took place.

On that day, many children aged between 6 to 16 from various areas in Lusaka City gathered at the field and enjoyed football. Macthes were also played among adult members of the Japanese, German, Zambian and Friendship Teams.

This was the first ever participation by Japan. The event was successfully completed with the attendance of thousands of children and attention from media.
