Japanese Tourism Ambassador for Zambia appointed
On June 30, Zambian tourism rebranding ceremony was held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka. It was attended by Honourable Catherine Namugala, Minister of Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources, officials from the Government of Zambia and many stakeholders in the tourism industry. The new slogan for Zambian tourism “Zambia ‘Let’s Explore’”was revealed at the function.
Also announced were the Tourism Ambassadors who would promote Zambian tourism to the world. One of them is a Japanese national, Mr. Makoto Yamazaki, who had worked in Zambia for tourism promotion as a JICA senior volunteer from 2002 to 2005. It is hoped that more Japanese tourists will visit Zambia in the future.
