Launch of The Power System Development Master Plan

On 8th June, 2011, "Launch of the Power System Development Master Plan" took place in Lusaka. This ceremony was hosted by the Minister of Energy and Water Development Hon. Kenneth Konga MP while the Ambassador of Japan to Zambia Mr. Akio Egawa attended the ceremony as guest speaker.
This Master Plan was formulated with Japanese technical assistance under "the Study for the Power System Development Master Plan in Zambia" between 2008 and 2010.
For Zambia, where the electrification rate is low, development of electrical infrastructure remains an indispensable key for economic growth and improvement of people's quality of life. It is hoped that the implementation of the Master Plan by the Government of the Republic of Zambia will bring about the intended benefits to the economy and, consequently, to the people of Zambia.
