H.E.Mr. Rupiah Banda Signs Book of Condolences

The President of the Republic of Zambia, His Excellency Mr. Rupiah Bwezani Banda visited Embassy of Japan in Zambia ,accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Kabinga Pende and Lusaka Provincial Minister, Hon. Charles Shawa to sign the Book of Condolences for the victims of the earthquake and the tsunami which occured in Japan recently. In a brief statement the President said that he had come to the Embassy to offer his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Japan on behalf of the Government and people of Zambia. He further said that Japan and Zambia have indeed come a long way in terms of friendship and cooperation and the people of Zambia are closely following the magnitude and effects of the tradedy and pray together with the Japanese people that they may find strength in bearing the very difficult situation.
In addition to this visit, President Banda had sent a letter of condolences to Prime Minister Naoto Kan dated 16th March.

The Republic of Zambia
