Signing Ceremony for Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Project (Community School)
The Government of Japan has provided a grant amounting to aproximately 96,893 United States dollars to Twavwane Home-based Care and Community School Initiative through Grant Assistance for the Grass-roots Human Security Project scheme. THe Grant Contract between the Government of Japan and Twavwane Home-based Care and Community Initiative was signed on 24th March in Lusaka by Ambassador of Japan to Zambia Mr. Akio Egawa and Mrs. Vera Chintu, the Coordinator of the organization.
The purpose of the grant is to support the project for construction of a new community school in Kabanana area in Lusaka. So far the organization has been renting a small independent house to accomodate some 190 children. By constructing new classrooms, the educational environment of children in Kabanana area will be improved.
